What Happened
The passenger air bag in your vehicle is designed to protect you in the event of a frontal crash. In some 2001-2006 models, the air bag's internal pressure can become too high, causing the inflator to burst into sharp metal fragments.
Risk if Unfixed
If the air bag inflator ruptures during a crash, sharp metal fragments could hit you and your passengers, causing serious injury or even death.

Your Nissan dealer will replace the passenger air bag inflator with a safer, redesigned one at no cost to you. This repair is free, and you should schedule it as soon as you receive the recall notice.
