SEAT BELTS
What Happened
The seat belts in your Malibu have a metal cable that connects to the seat and keeps you safe. This cable can bend and break if someone sits on it while getting in the car, especially if it happens a lot.
Risk if Unfixed
If the cable breaks, you could be at risk of serious injury in a crash because you might not be properly restrained. This could happen even if you're wearing your seatbelt.
Free Fix
Your Chevrolet dealer will inspect the seat belt cable, replace the bracket that holds it, and fix or replace the cable if it's damaged - all at no cost to you.
