If you drive on the spare tire, vibrations could loosen the nut holding it in place, and the wheel could come off, becoming a hazard on the road and increasing the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
BMW will replace the spare wheel nut with a new, self-locking one, free of charge, when you schedule an appointment with a dealership.
