ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:IGNITION
What Happened
The ignition system in your vehicle has a small part called the FOBIK that helps the key move between the 'ON' and 'START' positions. In some 2007-2008 models of the Chrysler 300, Dodge Magnum, Dodge Charger, Jeep Commander, and Jeep Grand Cherokee, this part can get stuck, causing problems.
Risk if Unfixed
If the ignition gets stuck, it could shut off your engine while you're driving, disabling your power steering, power brakes, and airbags. This can make it harder to control your vehicle and increase the risk of a serious crash or injury.
Free Fix
Your Chrysler dealer will replace the faulty ignition switch and key FOBs with new ones, completely free of charge. You should schedule the repair as soon as you receive the recall notice.
