EXTERIOR LIGHTING:BRAKE LIGHTS:SWITCH
What Happened
The brake light switch in your Outlander is a critical safety component that helps other drivers see when you're slowing down or stopping. In some 2007-2009 models, this switch can malfunction, causing the brake lights to stay off when you press the brake pedal.
Risk if Unfixed
If the brake lights don't turn on when you brake, other drivers may not see you slowing down, and this could lead to a collision.
Free Fix
Your Mitsubishi dealer will replace the faulty brake light switch with a new one at no cost to you. You'll get a notification letter with instructions on when and where to get the repair done.
