What Happened
Your vehicle's transmission shift cable connects the gear selector on your shifter to the transmission. In some 2013-2014 Cadillac ATS and 2014 CTS models, this cable might come loose from its brackets.
Risk if Unfixed
If the cable detaches, you could accidentally shift into the wrong gear while driving, losing control of your vehicle. When you park, your transmission might not fully engage, and your car could roll away, putting you and others at risk of getting hurt.
Free Fix
Your Cadillac dealer will double-check that the cable is securely attached to the transmission and shifter brackets, at no cost to you. This fix is free, and you should schedule it as soon as you get the recall notice.
