What Happened
The ignition cylinder in your vehicle is a critical part that helps control the engine and other systems. In some older Chevrolet, Pontiac, and Saturn models, the ignition key can be removed when the engine isn't completely shut off.
Risk if Unfixed
If the key can be removed in this way, your vehicle could roll away, especially if you're not in a safe location. This increases the risk of a crash and serious injuries to you or bystanders.
Free Fix
Your dealer will replace the faulty ignition cylinder with a redesigned one, and they'll also re-cut and re-learn the keys to ensure they work properly with the new cylinder. This service is free, so schedule it with your dealer as soon as you receive the recall notice.
