What Happened
Your vehicle is being recalled because the NEMA 14-50 adapter that comes with it could overheat while charging, posing a risk of fire and injury.
Risk if Unfixed
If the adapter, cord, or wall outlet overheats, you could get burned or there could be a fire.
Free Fix
Tesla will give you a free software update and a new adapter with a built-in safety feature to prevent overheating. They'll also send you a new adapter with a thermal fuse. You can check if you've already received the update by looking at your vehicle's screen, and you can call Tesla's service center if you have any questions.
