What Happened
The ignition switch in your vehicle is the part that turns the engine on and off. In some cases, the switch can be knocked out of position by a heavy key ring, rough road, or other impact, causing the engine to shut off.
Risk if Unfixed
If this happens, your car will stall, and in a crash, the airbags won't deploy, which could lead to serious injury to you or your passengers.
Free Fix
Your GM dealer will replace the faulty ignition switch with a new one, free of charge, as part of a national recall. You should schedule the repair as soon as possible to ensure your safety.
