What Happened
Your vehicle has a system that helps cool the air conditioning system. In some 2012-2013 Avalon, Camry, and Venza models, the hose that drains water from this system can clog and cause water to leak onto the airbag computer.
Risk if Unfixed
If this happens, there's a chance the airbags won't work properly or could deploy without warning, which could increase the risk of injury or a crash. You could also lose power steering assistance, making it harder to steer at low speeds, which could lead to a crash.
Free Fix
Your Toyota dealer will seal the air conditioning condenser to prevent water from leaking, and install a protective cover on the airbag computer – all at no cost to you. You'll get a notification letter, but you can also call Toyota at 1-800-331-4331 to check on the status of the recall.
