What Happened
The puddle lights on your vehicle are the lights that brighten up the ground under your doors when you approach or leave your car. In some 2010-2012 Subaru models, these lights can be prone to a short circuit if they get exposed to road salt and moisture.
Risk if Unfixed
If the puddle light system gets a short circuit due to moisture, it can overheat and cause a fire. This is a serious risk, especially if you drive in areas where roads are treated with salt during winter.
Free Fix
Subaru will fix this issue for free by installing a special harness on your vehicle. Your dealer will take care of it, and you won't have to pay a thing.
