What Happened
The ignition switch is a crucial part that connects your key to the engine. In certain Honda and Acura models from 2003-2006, the switch's internal lever can bend, letting the car roll away even with the key removed.
Risk if Unfixed
If you remove the key and don't put the gear in park, your vehicle could roll away, increasing the risk of a crash, especially on hills or slopes.
Free Fix
Honda will replace the faulty switch's internal lever and possibly the entire switch, all for free. Your local Honda or Acura dealer will take care of the repair when you schedule an appointment.
