POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:GEAR POSITION INDICATION (PRNDL)
What Happened
The gear position indication system on your vehicle is a crucial part that helps you know when your transmission is in 'PARK.' In some 2007-2010 Saturn Auras, 2008-2010 Chevrolet Malibus, and 2008-2010 Pontiac G6s, the small metal tabs on this system can break off, causing the gear position and the shift lever to disagree.
Risk if Unfixed
If this happens, you might think your car is in 'PARK,' but the transmission could still be in gear, and you could accidentally roll away. If you try to restart the car, it might not work, and you could be at risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Your dealer will add a protective cover over the metal tabs or replace the entire gear position indication system, completely free of charge. When you get the recall notice, schedule an appointment to get it fixed.
