What Happened
The tire pressure monitoring system in your vehicle helps you know when your tires are low on air. But if you replaced your factory-installed wheels and tires with Toyota-approved accessory wheels and LT tires before selling the vehicle, the system might not be working correctly.
Risk if Unfixed
If the system fails to alert you to low tire pressure, your tires could go flat without you knowing, leading to a blowout on the road and increasing the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Your Toyota dealer will re-calibrate the tire pressure monitoring system and install an updated tire and loading information label for free. If you drive an FJ Cruiser, they'll replace the electronic control unit for the TPMS, which is still being developed. Either way, you can get your vehicle checked for free by contacting your Toyota dealer.
