What Happened
The brake lamp switch in your Outlander is a critical safety component that helps turn on your brake lights when you step on the brake pedal. In some 2007-2008 Outlander models, this switch may not work properly.
Risk if Unfixed
If the brake lamp switch fails, your brake lights won't turn on when you apply the brakes, which means following traffic won't know you're slowing down. This could cause a collision.
Free Fix
Your Mitsubishi dealer will replace the faulty brake lamp switch with a new one, free of charge. You should schedule the repair as soon as you get the recall notice.
