What Happened
The harness that controls your seat is at risk of getting damaged when you get in with snowy boots. The harness is usually hidden under the floor carpet, but in some Outlanders, it's exposed and could get wet.
Risk if Unfixed
If you get snow with road salt on your boots and it seeps into the harness, it could corrode and cause a fire. This could happen while you're driving or parked, and could damage your vehicle.
Free Fix
Your Mitsubishi dealer will move the harness to a safe place, above the carpet, so it won't get wet. This repair is free, and you should schedule it as soon as you get the recall notice.
