The nut holding the gear selector shaft in your transmission might not be tightened properly, which can cause the gear display on your dashboard to show a wrong gear.
RISK_ASSESSMENT
If the gear display is wrong, you might accidentally shift into a gear that's not what you think you're in, which could lead to unexpected vehicle movement and a crash.
RESOLUTION_PROTOCOL
Your local Nissan dealer will check the nut and tighten it for you at no cost. You'll get a notification starting April 15, 2003, and if it's not done quickly, contact Nissan at 1-800-647-7261.
