What Happened
The passenger air bag in your vehicle is a safety device that inflates to cushion you in case of a crash. However, in some cases, the air bag was made without a crucial component called a check valve pin, which helps regulate the air bag's inflation and deflation.

If you're not wearing a seatbelt and are close to the air bag when it deploys, you could be seriously hurt because the air bag may not deflate quickly enough. If you are wearing a seatbelt, the air bag might not be able to protect you properly.
