What Happened
Your vehicle's anti-lock braking system (ABS) is a computer that helps prevent your wheels from locking up when you brake hard. The ABS control unit is the brain of this system, and it could develop a short circuit.
Risk if Unfixed
If this happens, it could cause a fire, which is a serious safety risk. In the worst case, a fire could spread quickly and put you and others in danger.

How to Get This Fixed

Free Fix
Your authorized Volkswagen dealer will replace the ABS control unit with a new one, free of charge. You should schedule the repair as soon as possible and contact Volkswagen at 1-800-822-8987 if you don't receive the repair within a reasonable time.
