What Happened
A faulty vacuum system in your vehicle's power brake assist could cause problems with the brakes when it's cold outside and you're using the air conditioner and other accessories.

If your brakes don't get enough vacuum assist, it could take longer to stop your vehicle when you press the brake pedal, which could lead to a longer stopping distance.

How to Get This Fixed

Free Fix
You should take your vehicle to a Toyota dealership, where they'll replace the brake booster and front brake pads for free. You should have received a notification starting October 29, 2001, but if you haven't, you can contact Toyota at 1-800-331-4331 to schedule a service appointment.
