What Happened
The tailgate locking mechanism in your vehicle is the part that keeps your tailgate secure. Unfortunately, some of these mechanisms were made wrong, which could cause your tailgate to lock or unlock at the wrong time.
Risk if Unfixed
If your tailgate doesn't lock properly, it could be left open, especially when you're driving in cold weather. This could let cargo fall out, or even make a collision more likely.
