Component

ENGINE

Manufacturer
Porsche Cars North America, Inc.
What Happened
The engine connecting rods in your 2021 Cayman, Cayman GT4, 718 Spyder, or Boxster GTS 4.0 are the long metal rods that connect the pistons to the crankshaft. They help transfer the up-and-down motion of the pistons into rotational energy.
Risk if Unfixed
If a connecting rod cracks or loosens while you're driving, your engine could suffer serious damage, stall, or leak oil. This could lead to a crash or even a fire.
Free Fix
Your authorized Porsche dealer will replace the connecting rods or, in some cases, the entire engine, at no cost to you. You should schedule the repair as soon as possible after receiving the recall notice.

SUSPENSION

Manufacturer
Porsche Cars North America, Inc.
What Happened
The suspension system in your vehicle includes the parts that connect your wheels to your car's frame. In some 2021 Porsche models, certain suspension components weren't tightened correctly, which can cause them to loosen over time.
Risk if Unfixed
If these components come loose, you could lose control of your vehicle, especially while driving at high speeds. This could lead to a sudden loss of stability and increase the risk of a serious crash.
Free Fix
Your authorized Porsche dealer will replace the faulty suspension nuts and bolts, and inspect surrounding parts for damage. If any parts are damaged, they'll replace those too. This repair is free of charge, so be sure to schedule it as soon as you get the recall notice.
