Your vehicle's front seat belt retractors, which help guide the seat belt into the buckle, may have been damaged during production.
Risk if Unfixed
If your seat belt retractor is damaged, it might not keep you safe in a crash, which could lead to serious injury.
Free Fix
You should take your vehicle to a BMW dealership, where they will replace your front seat belt retractors for free, at no cost to you.

Original — What Happened
BMW of North America, LLC is recalling certain 2025-2026 X1 and X2, MINI Cooper Convertible, MINI Cooper, Mini Countryman S ALL4, and 2025 MINI Countryman SE ALL4 vehicles. The torsion bar in both front seat belt retractors may have been damaged during production.

A damaged seat belt retractor may not properly restrain an occupant during a crash, increasing the risk of injury.
Original — Remedy
Dealers will replace both front seat belt retractors, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed November 13, 2025. Owners may contact BMW customer service at 1-800-525-7417. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) will be searchable on NHTSA.gov on November 7, 2025.

ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL (ESC):CONTROL MODULE

What Happened
Your vehicle has a faulty Electronic Stability Control (ESC) control module, which is a computer that helps control your vehicle's brakes and stability. The welds in this module might break, causing problems.
Risk if Unfixed
If the welds break, you might lose power brake assist and rear brake function, which can cause longer stopping distances and make it harder to control your vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
A free repair will be done at a dealership, where the integrated brake system will be replaced. You should contact BMW Customer Service at 1-800-525-7417 to schedule the repair.

BMW of North America (BMW) is recalling certain 2023-2024 X1, 2024-2025 X5, 2025 X6, 2023-2025 X7, 740i, 760i, 2024 XM, 530i, 540i, i7, 750e, X2, 2024-2025 i5, 2024 Rolls Royce Spectre, 2025 MINI Countryman S ALL4, JCW Countryman ALL4, and 2025 MINI Hardtop 2 Door (Cooper, Cooper S) vehicles. Please refer to the recall report for the complete list of models. The welds in the servomotor of the integrated brake control module may break, causing a loss of power brake assist and rear brake function. In addition, the Antilock Brake System (ABS) and Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) system may not function.

If this happens, you may need to press the brake pedal harder to stop the vehicle, which can increase your risk of being in a crash, and you might lose control of the car, making it harder to avoid a collision.
Free Fix
The dealership will replace the integrated brake system for free, so you don't have to pay a thing. You'll get a letter with instructions, but if you want to check the status, you can call BMW at 1-800-525-7417 or Rolls-Royce at 1-877-877-3735.
