What Happened
The fuel tank in your vehicle has a thin spot on the bottom that could crack and leak fuel. This might make you smell gasoline and trigger the 'check engine' light.
Risk if Unfixed
If the tank cracks, it could leak fuel and catch fire if there's an ignition source nearby. This could cause a serious fire.
Free Fix
Your dealer will replace the entire fuel tank with a new one at no cost to you. Just schedule the repair when you receive the recall notice.

Original — What Happened
ON CERTAIN PASSENGER VEHICLES, THE FUEL TANK MAY HAVE A LOCALIZED THIN WALL SECTION IN THE LOWER HALF OF THE TANK. THE FUEL TANK MAY CRACK CREATING A POTENTIAL FOR A FUEL LEAK AND FUEL ODOR. THE "SERVICE ENGINE SOON" INDICATOR MAY ILLUMINATE.

A FUEL LEAK IN THE PRESENCE OF AN IGNITION SOURCE COULD RESULT IN A FIRE.
