What Happened
The transmission shift cable in your vehicle is a crucial part that helps your automatic transmission shift gears smoothly. It connects to a bracket that keeps it in place, but in some cases, this bracket can come loose.
Risk if Unfixed
If this happens, the gear indicator on your dashboard might not show the correct gear you're in, which could confuse you and increase the risk of an accident, especially when you're merging or changing lanes.
Free Fix
Your Ford dealer will add a strap to the shift cable to keep it securely in place, and this repair is free. You should schedule an appointment as soon as possible to get your vehicle fixed.
