What Happened
You should check to see if your 2025 Elantra N, 2026 Tucson, Tucson Hybrid, or Tucson Plug-In Hybrid Electric (PHEV), or Elantra vehicle is part of this recall, as there's a problem with the sensors that help your air bags deploy in a crash.
Risk if Unfixed
If the air bags don't deploy as they should, you could be at a higher risk of getting hurt in a crash.
Free Fix
A dealership will inspect and replace the impact sensor(s) for free, and you'll be notified by mail in June 2026. You can also contact Hyundai's customer service at 855-371-9460 for more information.

Original — What Happened
Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain 2025 Elantra N, 2026 Tucson, Tucson Hybrid, Tucson Plug-In Hybrid Electric (PHEV), and Elantra vehicles. The B-pillar impact sensors may have been misassembled, which can delay air bag deployment.

Air bags that do not deploy as intended increase the risk of injury in a crash.

Dealers will inspect and replace the impact sensor(s), as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed June 19, 2026. Owners may contact Hyundai's customer service at 855-371-9460. Hyundai's number for this recall is 299. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall became searchable on NHTSA.gov on April 22, 2026.
