Original — What Happened
Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain 2024 Elantra, Venue, and Kona vehicles. An electrical short circuit may occur in the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve assembly, which can result in a loss of drive power.
Original — Risk if Unfixed
A loss of drive power increases the risk of a crash.
Original — Remedy
Dealers will replace the exhaust gas recirculation valve assembly, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 28, 2024. Owners may contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460. Hyundai's number for this recall is 260.

What Happened
Hyundai is recalling your 2024 Kona to fix a problem with the seat belt assemblies in the right and left rear seats, which may not work properly.
Risk if Unfixed
If the seat belt doesn't work right, you could get hurt in a crash because you might not be properly restrained.

A Hyundai dealer will inspect and replace the faulty seat belt retractor for free, and you'll be notified by mail - you can also call Hyundai's customer service at 1-855-371-9460.

Original — What Happened
Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain 2024 Kona vehicles. The seat belt assemblies in the right and left rear seats may not function properly. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard numbers 208, "Occupation Crash Protection" and 209, "Seat Belt Assemblies."

A seat belt that does not function properly may not adequately restrain an occupant in a crash, increasing the risk of injury.

Your 2024 Hyundai Kona's 12-Volt battery cables might be rubbing against a metal bracket and causing a short circuit.

This could lead to a fire in the engine compartment, which is a serious safety risk.

Hyundai will cover the cost to add protective sheathing to the wiring to prevent the short circuit, and you should contact them at 1-855-371-9460 to schedule the fix.
