SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:FLUID

Manufacturer
Hyundai Motor Company
What Happened
The hydraulic fluid in your Genesis is the liquid that helps your brake system work smoothly. In certain 2009-2012 models, the fluid might not protect a critical computer that helps your brakes work correctly.
Risk if Unfixed
If this computer corrodes, your brakes might not work as well as they should, making it harder to stop your vehicle, and increasing the risk of a serious crash.
Free Fix
Your Hyundai dealer will check the computer and replace the brake fluid if necessary, all at no charge to you. You should schedule the service as soon as you receive the recall notice.

Original — What Happened
Hyundai is recalling certain model year 2009-2012 Genesis vehicles manufactured April 30, 2008, through March 28, 2012. The vehicles may contain brake fluid which does not protect against corrosion of the Hydraulic Electronic Control Unit (HECU).
Original — Risk if Unfixed
If the module corrodes, reduced brake effectiveness may result, increasing the risk of a crash.
Original — Remedy
Hyundai will notify owners and instruct them to bring their vehicle to a dealer for service. Hyundai will inspect the HECU module for proper operation, and will replace the modules as necessary. VISIBILITY:WINDSHIELD WIPER/WASHER:MOTOR

Manufacturer
Hyundai Motor America
What Happened
The windshield wiper motor is the part that helps your wipers move back and forth, keeping your windshield clear. In some 2011-2013 Genesis and Equus models, the seal around this motor can break down and let moisture in, causing corrosion on the motor's circuit board.
Risk if Unfixed
If the corrosion happens, your windshield wipers might not work properly, especially in heavy rain or snow. This could make it harder for you to see the road, increasing the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Your Hyundai dealer will replace the wiper motor cover and seal with new parts, at no cost to you. Just bring your vehicle in when you receive the recall notice and they'll take care of the repair.
