What Happened
The stop lamp switch wiring harness in your minivan is a set of wires that connects your brake pedal to the dashboard. In some cases, this harness might be in the wrong spot and could rub against the steering column.
Risk if Unfixed
If the wires get damaged from rubbing, they could short circuit, causing your brake lights to fail, your engine to stall, or your car to not start. This could make it harder to stop or control your vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Your Hyundai dealer will check the wiring harness for damage and fix it if needed. They'll also secure the harness so it doesn't rub against the steering column again. This repair is free, and you should schedule it as soon as you get the recall notice.
