What Happened
The rear subframe bolts in your Pilot or Passport are responsible for keeping the rear axle attached to the frame. Unfortunately, they might not have been tightened correctly.
Risk if Unfixed
If these bolts come loose, your vehicle's stability could be compromised, or the rear subframe could detach while driving. This could lead to a crash or injury, especially if you're on the road or driving at high speeds.
Free Fix
Your Honda dealer will inspect the bolts and replace them if necessary, all free of charge. You should schedule the inspection as soon as you receive the recall notice.

Original — What Happened
Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2026 Pilot and Passport vehicles. The rear subframe bolts may have been tightened improperly.

Dealers will inspect and replace the rear subframe bolts as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed August 24, 2026. Owners may contact Honda's customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's number for this recall is OOY. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will be searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning July 10, 2026.
