LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES:DOORS:LATCH

Manufacturer
FORD MOTOR COMPANY
What Happened
Your vehicle's side door latch mechanism may let water in, which can cause it to freeze in cold weather, leading to a problem with the door latch.
Risk if Unfixed
If left unfixed, the door latch pawl may not return to the correct position, and the door could open while you're driving, which could cause an accident.
Free Fix
A Ford dealership will fix this issue for free by installing a shield over the front latches, sealing a drain hole in the rear window trim, and applying grease to the door latch mechanisms.
