What Happened
The electronic park lock lever in your vehicle is a safety mechanism that locks your transmission in place when you take the key out. In certain 2011-2017 models, this lever might not work correctly, allowing you to remove the key while the transmission is not in PARK.
Risk if Unfixed
If you take the key out without shifting into PARK, your vehicle could roll away as you're getting out, which could cause injury.
Free Fix
Your dealer will inspect the key cylinder lock housing and replace it if necessary, at no cost to you. You should schedule this repair as soon as you receive the recall notice.
