What Happened
The side airbag in your vehicle is a safety feature that deploys to protect you in the event of a collision. In some cases, the part that inflates the airbag can break apart from the main module, leaving you without proper protection.
Risk if Unfixed
If this happens, the airbag might not work as designed, putting you at greater risk of injury in a crash. In the worst case, a broken piece could even fly down and hit someone's foot in the back seat.
Free Fix
Your dealer will replace the entire side impact airbag module with a new one, free of charge. This repair is urgent and should be done as soon as possible to ensure your safety on the road.

Original — What Happened
VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: PASSENGER VEHICLES. SOME OF THESE VEHICLES EXHIBIT A CONDITION IN WHICH THE DRIVER SIDE IMPACT AIR BAG INFLATOR SEPARATES FROM THE AIR BAG MODULE DURING DEPLOYMENT.
Original — Risk if Unfixed
IF THE INFLATOR SEPARATES, THE AIR BAG WILL NOT DEPLOY PROPERLY DURING A CRASH AND OCCUPANT PROTECTION WOULD BE REDUCED. IF IS ALSO POSSIBLE THAT A SEPARATED INFLATOR COULD BE PROPELLED DOWNWARD AND COULD RESULT IN INJURY TO A REAR SEAT PASSENGER WHOSE FOOT IS POSITIONED APPROXIMATELY UNDER THE INFLATOR MODULE.
Original — Remedy
DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE SIDE IMPACT AIR BAG MODULE.
