Component
FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:DELIVERY:FUEL PUMP
Manufacturer
BMW of North America, LLC
What Happened
The fuel pump flange in your motorcycle is a critical connection that sends gasoline to your engine. In some 2005-2012 R, K, and S 1000 models, this flange can crack and leak fuel.
Risk if Unfixed
If the flange leaks while you're riding, fuel could spill onto a hot engine or exhaust system, causing a fire.
Free Fix
Your local BMW dealer will inspect the flange and either reinforce it or replace the fuel pump, all at no cost to you. They'll contact you when the repair is ready, but you can also reach out to BMW's customer relations at 1-800-525-7417 or CustomerRelations@bmwusa.com.
