Critical #19V593000 Plain English
Component

SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:FOUNDATION COMPONENTS:DISC:CALIPER

Manufacturer
BMW of North America, LLC
What Happened
The brake caliper is a crucial part that helps your scooter or motorcycle stop by squeezing the brake pads against the rotors. In your 2017-2020 G 310 R, 2018-2020 G 310 GS, or 2019 C 400 X model, the caliper pistons could corrode, making it harder for your brakes to work properly.
Risk if Unfixed
If your brake caliper is stuck or dragging, you might experience a spongy brake pedal or a slower-than-expected stopping time. This could increase the risk of a crash, especially in emergency situations.
Free Fix
Your BMW dealer will replace the front and rear brake calipers with new ones, completely free of charge. You should schedule the repair as soon as possible after receiving the recall notice.

Risk if Unfixed
If the throttle gets stuck open, you could lose control of your scooter, especially in cold weather, and increase the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Your authorized BMW dealer will replace the throttle cable with a new, improved version at no cost to you. Schedule the repair as soon as you get this notice.
