What Happened
The electronic control unit (ECU) in your BMW 745e xDrive is the brain that runs the car's systems. There's a software glitch that could make the seat belt warning sound stop working.
Risk if Unfixed
If the warning sound is silenced, you might forget to buckle your seat belt, which means you'll be more likely to get hurt in a crash.
Free Fix
Your BMW dealer will update the ECU software to fix the issue for free. You'll get a notification, and you should schedule the repair when you receive it.

Original — What Happened
BMW of North America, LLC (BMW) is recalling certain 2020 BMW 745e xDrive vehicles. A software error in the electronic control unit (ECU) may disable the audible warning signal for an unbelted driver to fasten their seat belt. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 208, "Occupant Crash Protection."
