BACK OVER PREVENTION Safety Recalls

Standard NHTSA Filing #19V684000 Plain English
Component

BACK OVER PREVENTION: SENSING SYSTEM: CAMERA

Manufacturer
BMW of North America, LLC
What Happened
The back-up camera system in your vehicle is designed to show a clear view of what's behind you when you're reversing. However, in certain models, the display settings can get stuck, hiding the image.
Risk if Unfixed
If the back-up camera image doesn't appear when you're backing up, you might not see what's behind your vehicle, which increases the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Your BMW dealer will update the back-up camera software at no cost to you. This free fix should be done as after confirming availability with your dealer as possible to ensure your safety. This timing describes the original 2019 filing; contact your dealer now to confirm the free repair is available.
