Frequently Asked Questions

This model year has 1 recorded safety recall. Model-level listings do not establish VIN-specific open recalls or whether this vehicle is safe to drive. Check your VIN and contact the manufacturer for recall instructions.
What is the AIR BAGS:SENSOR:OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION recall for the 2006 BMW 7 Series? (Campaign #13V564000)
The front passenger seat sensor in your vehicle is like a smart mat that helps decide if the airbag should deploy in a crash. Over time, this mat can crack and fail, which could cause problems. If the sensor fails, the airbag in front of the passenger seat won't deploy in a crash, putting the passenger at risk of serious injury. Your BMW dealer will replace the faulty sensor mat with a new one, free of charge. You'll also get an extended warranty on the new mat. When a repair date is available, your dealer will contact you with an appointment. Until then, they'll send a notification letter in early 2014.
