FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:DELIVERY:FUEL PUMP

Manufacturer
BMW of North America, LLC
What Happened
The fuel pump in your vehicle is the part that sends gasoline from the tank to your engine. In some 2014-2015 BMW models, the plating on this pump could be faulty, causing it to fail.
Risk if Unfixed
If the pump fails while you're driving, your vehicle could stall suddenly, losing power steering and power brakes. This increases the risk of a crash.
Free Fix
Your BMW dealer will replace the faulty fuel pump with a new one, free of charge. You'll get a notice in the mail, and they'll schedule the repair as soon as possible.

AIR BAGS:SIDE/WINDOW:HEAD

Manufacturer
BMW of North America, LLC
What Happened
The head air bag in your vehicle is designed to deploy in a crash to protect your head. In some 2014-2015 models, the inflator inside the air bag might fail at the weld joint, causing a gas leak or even a rupture.
Risk if Unfixed
If the inflator ruptures, sharp metal fragments could fly into your vehicle, posing a serious risk of injury. Alternatively, a leak could cause the air bag to inflate only partially during a crash, also increasing the risk of injury.
Free Fix
Your BMW dealer will replace the faulty head air bag with a new one, at no cost to you. This is a free repair, and you should schedule it as soon as possible, especially since you've already received a recall notice in the mail.
