What Happened
The PCV valve in your vehicle is a small system that recycles engine vapors. The heater for this valve could short circuit and overheat, causing a fire hazard.
Risk if Unfixed
If the PCV valve heater overheats, it could spark a fire while you're driving or even after you park your car. This could damage your vehicle and potentially harm you or others.
Free Fix
Your BMW dealer will install a new electrical wiring harness with a fuse to protect the PCV valve heater, at no cost to you. Schedule the repair after checking repair availability with your dealer. This timing describes the original 2022 filing; contact your dealer now to confirm the free repair is available.
