Component
AIR BAGS:SENSOR:OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION:FRONT PASSENGER
Manufacturer
Volkswagen Group of America, Inc.
What Happened
The front passenger air bag system in your RS E-TRON GT relies on sensors to detect whether the seat is occupied. In some 2022-2023 models, a faulty wiring connection could prevent the system from working properly.
Risk if Unfixed
If the air bag is deactivated, you could be at higher risk of injury in the event of a crash, especially if the passenger is not wearing a seatbelt.
Free Fix
Your Audi dealer will replace the seat cushion to fix the faulty wiring, and it won't cost you a thing. You should schedule the repair as soon as you get the recall notice, and you can reach Audi customer service at 1-800-253-2834 with any questions.
